Bangkok’s scene is open, visible and fun, centred on Silom Soi 2 and Soi 4 — a cluster of bars and clubs (DJ Station is the landmark) that get going late. The city is relaxed and accepting of LGBTQ+ visitors across the board.
Where to go
- Silom Soi 2 & Soi 4 — the main bar-and-club strip (DJ Station, G Bangkok)
- Sukhumvit / Thonglor — newer, more upscale LGBTQ+-friendly venues
- Bangkok Pride parade in June
Where to stay
Silom/Sathorn keeps you near the scene and the BTS; Sukhumvit is a lively, central alternative.

Thailand is long known as one of Asia’s most accepting societies, and Bangkok is its most open city. Same-sex couples are unremarkable in tourist and nightlife areas; keep public affection moderate, as you would anywhere in Thailand.
Pride & events
Bangkok Pride is held in June and has grown rapidly. Bangkok is also a finalist — alongside Barcelona — bidding to host WorldPride 2030, which would be the first in Asia; the host is decided in early 2027.
Practical tips
